January Nineteen

Good morning!
I have lots of questions today so I am diving in.

Prologue
Jobs life is described as perfect.

Jobs First Test
I was discussing this with my HEART group which is an amazing new part of my Christian mommy group. I really feel like my life is perfect. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. My friend told me that "it will". Which scared me but it is true. Life will not always be perfect but I shouldn't worry because God will be with me through everything I go through. I feel spiritual warfare going on um.. spiritualy . Where in my head I feel questions and doubts but does it go on physically like in jobs tests????
I HAVE ALOT OF QUESTIONS
I was discussing this with my HEART group which is an amazing new part of my Christian mommy group. I really feel like my life is perfect. I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. My friend told me that "it will". Which scared me but it is true. Life will not always be perfect but I shouldn't worry because God will be with me through everything I go through. I am not afraid of Gods trials because he loves me and knows me but:
In Job 1:6 What is the "heavenly court" or "sons of God" who came before the Lord. Does this go on now?????? Does God allow Satan to come to earth and PHYSICALLY cause things like Job 1:19 ....a powerful wind swept in....Does God allow this right now? I know He is more than capable of course but is it foing on?
Another thing that I am naive on is . What are your thoughts on this????

Jobs Second Test
Job 2:2b "Santan answered the Lord, "I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that's going on." " Hullo-That is sooo scary.I mean I know satan is out there and tempting us and things like that but can he physically affect us????

Job's Three Friends Share his anguish
Now that is friendship. Now that is why God wants us to fellowship to develop godly friends to be with us through trials.

Job's First Speech

Eliphaz's first response to Job
That is why we have friends in the Lord to help us through trials.

I hope I get comments to help me with the questions.

Totally still happening, Satan doesn't need to be ALLOWED to come to earth since he is already here. This is his domain. 1 Peter 5:8 says "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." He is looking and waiting for any opportunity to make us stumble. Does this mean he can harm us without God allowing it, NO. He can only suggest the sins that make us stumble, ultimately we are the ones that commit the sin. We are deceived by him but he does NOT know our hearts and our thoughts, just our patterns and areas of previous weakness.

I firmly believe that sometimes God allows awful things to happen to wake us up and get our attention sometimes because of a sin or sometimes we are just a bystander and get effected by the sin in the world around us. To me, I think of it like this - when bad things happen in my own personal life it might be to make me aware of sin in my life, it could be a sin of my husband that I am now being effected by, or it could be a circumstance that will somehow be used to bring glory to God in the future. So many people have gone through trials and tragedy not realizing until MUCH later that God was working in their life to make them stronger in their faith (James 1: 1 - 5) or to bring them to salvation to begin with. Does that mean He likes it, heck no! We are living in a sinful world. Not until Christ returns and sets up the millennial kingdom will there be freedom from sin and perfect peace.

"I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that's going on." " Hullo-That is sooo scary.I mean I know satan is out there and tempting us and things like that but can he physically affect us????

Satan (despite what he thinks) cannot do ANYTHING to us that God does not allow. We see with Job that God had to lift his hedge of protection around Job for Satan to even get close. The devil is NOT like God at all, He is not omniscient (all knowing and seeing) or omnipresent (everywhere all at once). His work is carried out by his demons who followed him out of Heaven when he revolted (Rev 12:4).

Job's friends really weren't much in the way of Godly friends for long. They were eventually encouraging him, like his wife, to turn from God so that his life would improve. Such a picture of the world today. Too many think that when we become Christians our life will be perfect and easy. Nope! We are promised trials and it seems that the closer we get to God, the more trials that come our way. God wants to bring us to a place of brokenness and surrender to Him and at times that means struggle. He also disciplines us to rid our lives of sinful areas, because He loves us, He wants nothing separating us from Him!

Hey Kathye...it's Kristi!

I like what Allison had to say. 2 things to add:
1) No matter what people think, Satan is the "god" of this world. Our Heavenly Father is our GOD! BUT...he is not "of" the world! As Christians, we are not of this world! Satan has all authority over the earth. We are protected because we are Christians...because we are God's children...because we have been saved by HIS grace!
2) Have you ever read This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness by Frank Peretti? REALLY good fictional books portraying spiritual warfare and how it works. TOTALLY recommend them!
